ITC Plumbing Case Study

ITC Plumbing needed a system to help automate their day to day activities. They needed a way for their engineers to submit reports, timesheets and annual leave requests while on site.

The main issues that the company faced was with their archaic system of receiving reports from engineers. The company relied on engineers scanning or faxing reports to the office which was resulting in things not being done, or receiving reports that weren’t readable.

We built them a system which would digitise all of these systems; allowing the engineers to fill in simple forms on a phone/tablet in the field and send them automatically to the office back end system.

At its core, the system is a database of properties which has records for all their additional reports. A user can log into the system, find a property and see all of the records for this property at a glance.

On the engineer side of things; an engineer can login, find a property then submit a simplified report quickly and easily. These reports also feature all of the necessary signatures which the engineer can get from the client using their finger or a stylus.

The system also features a timesheet system; this allows the engineer to record their time each day, for each property they have worked on. These can then be approved by the office before the engineer is paid. This system also includes a lock to stop engineers submitting timesheets late, etc.

On top of all this, the system also features an annual leave register. This allows staff to record their annual leave using a simple online form. The system will track number of leave days as well as applying restrictions on leave requests, such as notice period and overlapping days with other engineers.

The system has completely changed the way the company operates, streamlining their operations and removing errors and non submitted reports.
